Speech Therapy

Speech therapy, also known as speech-language therapy or speech-language pathology, is a specialized form of therapy that focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, and treating communication disorders in children

At Interact Pediatrics, our speech therapists, or speech-language pathologists, work with children who have difficulties with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing.

Enhancing language skills

We work to enhancing language skills. Speech therapy targets the development of language skills, including vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, comprehension, and expression.

Fluency disorders

Interact Pediatrics speech therapists help children who experience fluency disorders, such as stuttering. They teach strategies to manage and control speech fluency, reduce repetitions and hesitations, and increase smooth and fluent speech.

Voice disorder

Children with voice disorders may have difficulties with pitch, loudness, quality, or vocal cord functioning. Our team can provide interventions to improve vocal production, voice quality, and vocal hygiene while eliminating vocal behaviors that may be harmful to vocal cords.

Swallowing and feeding difficulties

Our team evaluates and treats children who have swallowing and feeding difficulties, known as dysphagia. We provide strategies to improve oral muscle strength and coordination, address sensory aversions, and introduce appropriate textures and techniques to ensure safe and efficient swallowing.
